No-Bake Protein Chocolate Oatmeal Squares (V)

February 3, 2024

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

These fudgy chocolate oat squares are made with 5 simple ingredients and are no-bake!

Why You’ll Love These:

  • No-Bake! I know how much a hassle turning on an oven can be so these are no bake and can be stored in the fridge/freezer for easy access.
  • Only 5 ingredients! This recipe is super simple and you probably have all the ingredients on hand already!
  • Vegan and contains no added sugar! Depending on the chocolate chips you use there can be no added sugar. I like the brand HU.

Ingredients Needed:

Equipment:

  • Loaf pan or a 9×9 pan
  • 2 Large Mixing Bowl

Oat Squares:

  • Rolled Oats- Make sure to use rolled oats instead of quick oats since quick oats are finer.
  • Protein Powder- Any protein powder will work. I recommend using a chocolate or unflavored-based one.
  • Peanut Butter- You can also use another type of nut butter such as almond, granola, or sunflower seed.
  • Maple Syrup- You can swap this out for another liquid sweetener such as honey.
  • Chocolate Chips- A key ingredient to making the fudge part.

How To:

  1. In a large mixing bowl simply combine all the ingredients for the oat layer (rolled oats, protein powder, peanut butter, and maple syrup). Mix until a sticky dough forms. If the texture is not sticky enough add more peanut butter.
  2. Next, in a separate bowl melt the chocolate chips in the microwave. Melt the chocolate in 20-second increments making sure to stir each time.
  3. Trasfer 3/4 of the oat mixutre into a lined loaf pan.
  4. Then, once the chocolate is fully melted, stir in the remaining peanut butter. The consistency should be smooth.
  5. Once combined, pour the chocolate over the oat base. Sprinkle the remaining oat mixture on top.
  6. Lastly, place that into the freezer to set for 1 hr.
  7. Once fully set take it out of the freezer, and let it sit out for 10 minutes before cutting into squares. Store in the fridge or freezer and enjoy!

FAQ

  • How to store these? You can store them in an air-tight container in the freezer.
  • You can also make these smaller if you want.
  • To make this gluten-free swap the oats out for gluten-free oatmeal.
