These brownies are flourless, super fudgy, and gooey. They have the perfect gooey middle center with a crisp flaky top and edge. All you need is a handful of ingredients and one bowl!
I don’t know about you but brownies are my guilty pleasure and I probably have eaten a hundred brownies by now. I feel like the only requirement for brownies are they have to be fudgy and gooey or I don’t want them. I have been testing flourless brownies for a while now and I can confirm these have been a hit and will be for a long time. They are super easy to make and did I mention they do not require any flour.
Let me just say, these brownies will be your new favorite dessert that you will be craving every night because they are that good. They are a lil bit messy but everyone loves to get their hands full of chocolate.
Why You’ll Love These Brownies?
- Only requires 5 main ingredients that you probably have on hand.
- Many of the ingredients can be swapped out for another similar ingredient.
- Made in one bowl so less cleaning!
- Rich in chocolate flavor without the need to add more chocolate (but feel free to add more)
Ingredients Needed To Make These Vegan Flourless Brownies
As mentioned before there are only 5 main ingredients and you can for sure swap out some of them. I have listed alternatives below as well.
- Almond Butter– Any nut butter of your choice will work. I recommend sticking to almond or cashew butter. Also, make sure that the nut butter is runny and not thick. I like using Once Again Nut Butters because they are super clean.
- Apple Sauce– Apple sauce is a great replacement for oil because it keeps the brownies moist. You can also use mashed bananas or pumpkin puree.
- Maple Syrup– This adds extra sweetness to the brownies. You can also try honey if not vegan.
- Cocoa Powder–
- Flax Egg– If you are not vegan, you can use a regular egg. I have not tested this with a chia egg.
- Baking Soda
- Salt
How to Make These Vegan Flourless Brownies
- Start by preheating the oven to 350°F and greasing or a lined a 9×9 baking dish.
- In a large bowl combine the almond butter, maple syrup, and apple sauce. Mix until well combined.
- Then sift in the cocoa powder and gently whisk until well combined.
- Lastly, add the baking soda and salt. Fold in extra chocolate chips if you would like.
- Transfer to the baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes.
Tips
- To make a flax egg simply combine 1 tbsp of flax seed with 3 tbsp of water.
- When checking if the brownies are done stick a toothpick inside. If it comes out with a little bit of brownie batter it is done. You don’t want it to come out clean because it will continue to cook when out of the oven and it won’t be fudgey.
- Keep it in an airtight container for 1 week and reheat it when ready to serve again.
