I think cinnamon raisin is underrated and needs more attention so here come cinnamon raisin banana squares. It is a classic banana bread but in snacking square size. The raisins add for extra sweetness and pair perfectly with. overripe bananas that are just as sweet. The squares are also super moist and fluffy, ideal for a breakfast or snack option.
I know a lot of people hate raisins but I am a part of the 1% population that absolutely loves raisins! They are sweet but not overpowering and pair great with oatmeal, these banana squares, or just snacking.
Full disclosure, I made these cinnamon raisin banana squares on a whim when I was sitting in class and thinking about what to make. I had some extra ripe bananas on hand and did not want to make my millionth banana bread so I decided why not add raisins into the batter and turn them into snacking squares. These were for sure a hit and I devoured them in less than 3 days.
What makes these banana squares unique?
- Added raisins- Not many banana bread recipes call for raisins but I am a huge fan. You can also add any nuts such as walnuts or almonds.
- Easy to make- The intructions are listed below and it is super easy to follow along. You cannot mess it up!
- Banana sqaures not bread- These are more fun to eat in my opinion.
