All the fall spices are packed into one donut. This donut is super soft and moist, perfect for breakfast or even dessert. Cozy up with a donut in hand this fall!
If these apple cider donuts do not scream fall I do not know what does. Growing up I used to eat donuts at swim practice whenever it was someone’s birthday so making these made me feel nostalgic. I am not a huge fan of the icing but I do love the soft cakiness of the donut. These donuts are the perfect fall treat made using no-sugar-added concentrate apple cider.
Ingredients Needed To Make Apple Cider Donuts
- Almond Flour– I love baking with almond flour to keep the recipe grain-free and paleo.
- Cassava Flour– You can swap this out for coconut flour or arrowroot/tapioca starch
- Cinnamon Date Spread– This adds to the cinnamon flavor, but if you do not have any add more nut butter. You can buy a date spread here.
- Nut Butter- I used almond butter but any runny all-natural nut butter will work.
- Maple Syrup– Any liquid sweetener will work.
- Apple Cider– I sed no-sugar-added concentrated apple cider. Make sure to use concentrated for a more apple cider flavor.
- Flax Egg– 1 tbsp of flaxseed + 3 tbsp water
- Cinnamon
- Apple Pie Spice
- Coconut Sugar– This is for the coating.
How To Make Apple Cider Donuts
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grab a large mixing bowl and combine the maple syrup, apple cider, flax egg, date spread, and nut butter. Mix well.
- Then slowly add in the dry ingredients and mix. Do not over-mix.
- Next, grease a donut pan and fill the pans about 2/3 full.
- Place into the oven for 20ish minutes or until it passes the toothpick test.
- Once the donuts have come out of the oven, coat them in the cinnamon-sugar coating while hot. You may need to use a little bit of coconut oil so that the mixture sticks.
